Our team
Meet the people
beside Dr. Stepanyan.
Two physician assistants who work with Dr. Stepanyan from your first visit through recovery.

Emily Ngov, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Part of Dr. Stepanyan’s care team, helping patients understand each step from injury to surgery to recovery.
I was born and raised in Long Beach, California. My family’s background shaped my commitment to caring for patients from many cultures. I studied Human Biology at the University of California, San Diego, then went on to earn my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Stanford University.
Before PA school, I spent time working alongside an orthopedic joint replacement surgeon, where I documented visits, helped patients feel prepared for surgery, and assisted with in-office procedures. That experience made me excited to pursue surgery, and during PA school I rotated through surgical subspecialties, including trauma surgery, orthopedic trauma, and plastic surgery. I loved walking patients through some of the hardest moments of their lives, from injury to surgery to recovery.
At Stanford, I also became passionate about medical education and served as a teaching assistant in clinical anatomy. I believe good care should feel understandable and personal, and I try to bring that to every patient I see. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with my dogs, because I love them. (If you have dogs of your own, I’d love to hear about them!)

Breanna Potenciano, PA-C
Physician Assistant
Board-certified physician assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
I am a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. I earned my Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Loma Linda University and my Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of California, Irvine, where I focused on health equity and improving access to care for underserved communities.
My interest in orthopedics began through my EMT training and work as a preoperative and PACU technician. Seeing patients regain mobility after procedures like total knee replacements inspired me to pursue a career helping others regain function and return to the activities they love.
Outside of work, I enjoy baking, traveling, photography, and trying new restaurants/cafes!
